February 2019 Chapter Chair Message

Congratulations to the Patriots for their recent Super Bowl win! It’s a good time to be a New England fan, that’s for sure. Although I’m sure many of us wondered if the score would ever get above 10 points.

The chapter’s volunteer leadership team is currently planning our meetings and events for the upcoming year. We are excited about some of the opportunities that are available to us in our growing chapter.

After hosting a very informative meeting on Account Takeover and Life Insurance Fraud last March, John Albanese, CFE/CPP, has offered to host another chapter meeting. Please consider traveling to Voya Financial in Windsor, CT to attend this event on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. Event details are here.

The March meeting is TBD. Anyone interested in hosting a meeting at their facility can reach out to me directly. I will be sending out invitations with more information as it becomes available.

We are finalizing the details of the April meeting. The venue will be at Crane Currency in Dalton, MA and we are planning a tour of their new indoor firing range simulator. This is going to be a fun one, so keep an eye out for the upcoming email invitation.

Our Scholarship Golf Tournament is booked for May 22, 2019 at Shaker Farms Country Club in Westfield, MA. The chapter had a very successful tournament last year with good food, prizes, and friendly competition – all for a good cause.

We are also planning our traditional BBQ Bash in June. There’s no better way to kick back with your peers and celebrate the coming of summer. Stay tuned for details.

I’m happy to announce that we are booked at the Springfield Sheraton for our 2019 WMass ASIS Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner on October 9, 2019! We’ll also award our scholarship prizes to the winning nominees.

Lastly, I would like to say that if any of you have any suggestions or questions please feel free to reach out to me or any of the other chapter officers. I will continue doing my best to keep making ASIS membership the best investment it can be for all of members of our chapter.

See you soon and best regards,

~ Joe Cyr
