2020 Chapter Chair Message

To All,

I am very excited to begin my term as your 2020 Chapter Chair.  At our Board retreat in January we asked ourselves the question “How are we doing?”  It became clear that we need to engage the Chapter as a whole.  The Board can provide education, activities, and other benefits but we cannot consider ourselves a successful chapter if the members do not value what we provide.  Our end goal is to provide everything we can to advance the careers of our members.  For us to listen to you, we need you to talk to us.  Tell us what we are doing well and tell us what you need that we are not giving you.  This is the first step to answering the question “How are we doing?”

The Chapter Board is currently conducting a survey of our members with the goal of soliciting your input to energize the Chapter and identify ways to increase attendance at our monthly meetings. I ask the you participate in this survey 10 question survey. The survey will run through February 14th and the results will be presented on the February 19th Conference Call

I am looking forward to a great 2020 for the ASIS Western MA Chapter. I would like to thank the 2019 Board Members and Committee chairs who comprised the 2019 Western MA Chapter Board. I would particularly like to extend my thanks to Joseph Cyr who has diligently served as Chapter Chair for the last several years; his commitment to the Chapter is greatly appreciated.

I am also looking forward to serving as the ASIS Western MA Chairperson and working with Sean Martin Vice Chair, John Debarge Jr., Treasurer, and David Lesure, Secretary.

Our committee chairs are currently busily coordinating this year’s events, outings and community service projects and the website will be updated with hold the dates and additional details as they become available. Speaking of the website, you can expect to see more context in the coming months. Our Social Media Chair, Joseph Cyr, has been working throughout 2019 to update our presence on social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram.) Joe, in tangent with our webmaster, Nichols Shamey, will make sure our content is updated and the social media feeds are seamless with-in our website.

I look forward to serving as your chapter Chairperson in 2020. We have a fantastic Volunteer Board this year. I am asking that you help support the Western MA Chapter, not only by attending Chapter meetings but by reaching out to a Chapter member who hasn’t been to a meeting in a while and bringing him or her with you.

We are always seeking members to join the ASIS Western MA volunteer Board and we welcome your feedback. Working together we can build on the great legacy. I look forward to hearing on the February 19th Conference Call.
